Hello!I’m RaShanda

I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

I am an empathetic, encouraging, and patient therapist that can help you rise above what you are going through. My expertise lies in providing dedicated support for individuals who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, panic, phobias, social anxiety, overwhelming fear about the state of the world, and obsessive compulsions.

Those I’ve worked with have shared that they experience reduced stress and anxiety as a result of counseling sessions with me. They find themselves less affected by feelings of panic, anxiety, and worry, and they notice improvements in their sleep patterns. They also express feeling better overall, regaining the ability to engage fully in life, better relationships, and experiencing a huge sense of relief.

What makes me different: I accept people with a lot of compassion, just as they are, without judgement.  I use techniques and methods that are anti-oppressive, liberating, and inclusive. I offer a secure, collaborative, empowering, and positive space for healing.

I can help with:

  • Anxiety is a natural response of your body to stress and can arise even in the absence of an actual threat. If anxiety persists and begins to disrupt your daily life, it may impact your overall health. Symptoms of anxiety may include excessive worry, difficulty concentrating, rapid heart rate, restlessness, and insomnia. To address these symptoms, you will learn grounding and mindfulness techniques to assist you in the moment. Additionally, you will identify and challenge negative and unhelpful thoughts that contribute to your anxiety. Learn more here.

  • Experiencing panic attacks can be incredibly frightening, as it may feel like you are losing control or facing imminent danger. In the case of panic disorder, recurrent and often unexpected panic attacks are accompanied by intense fear and worry about future episodes. This condition can significantly disrupt various aspects of your life, impacting work, relationships, hobbies, and family. It may compel you to avoid situations that could potentially trigger a panic attack, possibly leading to agoraphobia, ultimately limiting your engagement in activities you find enjoyable.

  • Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder characterized by an intense fear of situations or places where escape might be difficult or help might not be available in the event of a panic attack or other anxiety symptoms. People with agoraphobia often avoid places or situations that they perceive as unsafe or where they fear they might experience embarrassment or a loss of control.

  • Social Anxiety, also known as social phobia, is characterized by an intense and irrational fear of social situations. Individuals with this disorder experience significant anxiety and worry in response to social interactions, leading to avoidance of various social activities.

  • A phobia is characterized by an intense fear or anxiety related to a specific object or situation. Unlike a simple dislike or mild anxiety, a phobia involves a profound fear that leads to either complete avoidance of the object or situation or enduring it with extremely high anxiety until a quick escape is possible.

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is characterized by persistent, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that an individual feels compelled to perform in response to the obsessions. The cycle of obsessions and compulsions can significantly interfere with daily life, causing distress and impairment.
